| Irish School, c. 1790 Watercolour on ivory. Portrait of Francis Warren Bonham, wearing a powdered wig, tied en queue with black bow, and a violet coat with gilt frogs, over a white shirt with cravat. Ebonized papier mache frame. The reverse inscribed, “Francis Warren Bonham/Grandfather of/Rev’d J. Bonham/died 1810". Frances Warrent Bonham was born in 1740. He was the son of John Bonham and Susanna Warren. He married, firstly, Mary Anne Leslie, daughter of the Rt. Rev. James Leslie in 1767, and secondly, Dorothea Herbert on 28 December 1776. Franciis was educated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. He was a practising barrister and lived at Clongaffyn, County Meath, Ireland, and at Ballintaggart, Colbinstown, County Kildare, Ireland.
