| French School, c. 1790. Water color on ivory portrait of a gentleman. The circular head-and-shoulders portrait depicts a young gentleman with powdered hair and blue eyes, wearing a vivid blue coat with black collar and silver button, with a frilled shirt and stock. Under his left arm he carries his tricorn hat. Gilt metal slip in walnut frame. 7 cms. diameter (2 3/4 inches). Very good condition. | ||||||
