| English School, c. 1810. A pair of early 19th Century oil on board paintings, after the original pastel drawings by John Russell, "The Favorite Rabbit", and "Tom and His Pidgeon". Both paintings are framed in period frames, probably original to the works, which have been lightly restored. "The Favorite Rabbit", rectangular, 27.5 cms. X 36 cms.(11 inches X 14 inches). "Tom and His Pigeons", rectangular, 27.5 cms. X 36 cms. (11 inches X 14 inches). Both works, extremely well executed and in beautiful condition. The original pastel drawing by John Russell, The Favorite Rabbit was exhibited at the Royal Academy, London in 1791 and sold a Sotheby’s in March, 2000 for £40,000. | ||||||||
