While we were shopping in Kathmandu this past winter, business was so slow and the political situation had become so unstable that many Tibetan merchants were seriously considering leaving. Dealers we had done business with for years were trying to convert their inventories into cash by offering very tempting prices for whole collections of items. We had the chance to buy a large collection of early Tibetan leather covered boxes. As a result we purchased thirty-four very nice ...click for details
