This very unusual find is from the Indus Valley Culture prior to 2200 BCE. It is in the shape of what appears to be an antelope head with large spiral horns. The piece is hollow and appears to have been broken off from a larger piece at the base of the neck. I can only postulate the significance of the depression in the head between the two horns. Perhaps it was a conduit for a wick and this was part of an elaborate lamp? This unusual piece is 13.1 cm long and weighs 129 grams.
