This is a beautifully decorated bronze socketed spear point from Sichuan Province. It is most likely from the Ba or Ba-Shu minority culture that flourished in that area. The style and decor are reminiscent of the Shang period but as was often the case with minority culture pieces, this probably dates to a few centuries later. It's delicate attachment loops on either side are still intact and there are no signs of repair. It has a central reinforcing rib and decorations on two surfaces that s ...click for details

This is a stunning example of an early Edo period Japanese Katana. The pictures can never do justice to the breathtaking beauty of this fine work of art. This Katana dates to around 1620 AD and is in remarkable condition. The tang is inscribed on both sides. There are no visible flaws. All of the fittings appear to be genuine to the period of the blade. More pictures available on request. Feel free to ask any questions. I am not an expert in Japanese weaponry but I will do the best that I can to ...click for details

This is an interesting silver alloy ring from the mountains of Pakistan or Turkmenistan. It has what appears to be a carnelian intaglio of some sort of 4-legged creature. Rings of these types are allegedly reserved for tribal chieftains or other persons of importance. This ring is fairly large measuring 3.9 cm across its longest axis. The diameter of the opening is 1.8 cm. This piece dates to either the late 19th or early 20th century. I am sorry I don't have any more information on this tru ...click for details

This is a magnificent greyware vase or hu from ancient China. It dates to at least the Han period (209 BC- 220 AD) but is likely from the Warring States period (circa 500 BC). There are soil encrustations and remnants of root fibers on the surface. There are no signs of repair or restoration. There are taotie handles scultped in the clay to mimic ritual bronze vessels of the same period. This was done because often bronze was too expensive so likenesses were made out of pottery.
