This is an absolutely amazing bronze sword from the Dong Son culture in ancient Southeast Asia. Pieces of this type are rarely discovered intact. It is very long (81.5 cm) and though it is thin and fragile it appears to be intact with no obvious signs of repair. It dates to roughly 300 BC. This is a marvelous opportunity to own a truly stunning antiquity.

This is a copper alloy sword which stylistically dates to the Spring and Autumn period of ancient China (770-476 BC). This type of sword is generally referred to as a ‘round handle’ jian (two-edged sword). The handle is actually a hollow, tapering cylinder that is flared at the pommel. The guard is flat and rhombic or diamond-shaped when viewed from either end. The blade is long and slender, tapering near the point. There is a pronounced midrib that runs the entire length of the blade. Midrib ...click for details

$399

This is an amazing ankle bracelet from the Dong Son culture and Ancient Asia (circa 200 BC). This work of art is intricately decorated with typical Dong Son motifs. There are no repairs to the piece. As is common with bronze from this period and region, there is some surface delamination which accounts for the lighter colored areas. I have included a 35x micrograph in the photos that shows a layer of soil, a layer of malachite based patina, the corroded sublayer and some copper oxide. This gorge ...click for details

This item was purchased from the estate of the late John Piscopo as a decorated bronze axle hub from the Warring States period of ancient China. I have not seen an axle hub before with a form like this one. There is no place for an attachment pin. According to Mr. Piscopo's records, it was purchased from Tony Allen in the year 2000. It is a very unusual piece. It measures roughly 6 cm in height and is approximately 6.5 cm across at the widest part. There is a heavy patina but the metal is so ...click for details

This is quite an interesting bronze dagger axe. Judging by the design, it is probably from the early Warring States period. It has a five character inscription on the nei that appears to be authentic. It measures roughly 19.5 cm in length and is intact with no repairs. I have examined this piece carefully and fully guarantee its authenticity. However, should you decide to purchase it and you have any doubts after examining it first hand, I will refund the purchase price with no questions asked f ...click for details

Priceless Past

gone

This offering is for a pair of Han Dynasty tomb soldiers, one of which is extremely unique. The first soldier is NOT your typical Han Dynasty (circa 200 BC) tomb figure. This extraordinarily rare piece is quite literally one of a kind. Note the position of his hands in front of him - this is indicative of a special member of the color guard. There generally would be one "color guard" for every 100 or more of the regular infantry soldiers that you commonly see for sale in other gallerie ...click for details

This offering is a pair of bronze daggers from the ancient Ba culture. They date to the Warring States period (475-221 BC). The Ba people are thought to have inhabited the vast area which today encompasses southern Shaanxi, Hubei and eastern Sichuan provinces and Chongqing Municipality. Depending on sources, the Ba are thought to have existed as a unique culture from as early as the Spring and Autumn period (770 BC) to the end of the Warring States period (221 BC). This one is gone now - sorry!

This is an amazing bronze sword from the Khmer culture in ancient Southeast Asia (circa 12th century AD). This piece has a massive bronze handle and an iron blade. The iron is heavily corroded but still intact. There are no repairs to the piece. It measures just under 73 cm in length. This is one of the nicest examples of this type of sword that we have seen in quite some time. It comes with a custom display stand. Don't miss this incredible offer.

$9-$39

I have too many bronze arrowheads to post separately so here is another group. These are all from China and date from as early as the Western Zhou (circa 700 BC) to as late as the Han period (circa 200 BC). Each of these is a great specimen for collecting, for study, or both. Inquire for individual prices. I will certainly sell them as a group at a discount - just email me with offers or requests.
