This is another in a series of interesting ancient bronze axes recently acquired from a private collection. It has a deep red patina typically associated with early, high copper content tools and weapons. It is very solid and stable with only minor losses to the surface. Axes of this type are often associated with Amlash or Luristan cultures but this one has some interesting features not found on most. The edges and points are very square and the vertical blade has a groove all along the top edg ...click for details

This is another fine ancient bronze axe from Northern Iran. I have listed a number of these from a private collection this week. This piece is is superb condition with very thin, flared blades. Between the top edges of the vertical blade is a small depression. The socket has minor losses on one side but otherwise this is a marvelous example of an interesting type. The rest of the piece is complete, solid and stable. It would be a fine addition to any ancient weapon collection. It weighs 332 gram ...click for details

This is an interesting variation of an ancient bronze axe from northern Iran. This style is generally attributed to either the Amlash or Luristan cultures. This particular piece has narrower blades than most and the vertical blade has raised ridges that form a V-shaped depression both above and below - a feature not common to these types. This piece weighs 492 grms and measures roughly 16 cm across.

This is a very special offering of a small bronze axe from ancient Iran (circa 1200-1500 BC). It has minor losses to the horizontal blade and shows some pitting. These small axes seem to be a good bit more rare than their larger counterparts. This came as part of a large private collection and as a result I can offer it at much less than what these pieces usually sell for. I doubt that this one will be here for very long. It weighs 108 grams and measures just 9 cm in length.

This is a wonderful example of a small, ancient bronze axe from Northern Iran ca 1200 BC. Similar examples are attributed to either the Amlash or Luristan cultures. This particular example has three raised rings on the outside of the socket. On the upper surface behind the vertical blade edge there is a deep recession not often seen on these types of axe heads. This specimen weighs 572 grams. It is solid and stable with no signs of repair or restoration. It measures just over 12 cm down its long ...click for details

This is a fine example of a bronze sword from the Spring and Autumn period of ancient China (770-476 BC). It is solid and stable with no signs of repair or restoration. The blade is ever-so-slightly bent, but it does not detract form the overall beauty and value of this piece. This piece is a little longer than average at 48cm. Due to the recent import ban on Chinese antiquities (Jan of 2009) these items are sure to increase in value and become harder to find. Don't miss this opportunity.

This is a fine example of a bronze sword from the Spring and Autumn period of ancient China (770-476 BC). It is in remarkable condition with only a couple of nicks to the blade edge and a very small pit in the side of the handle. Portions of the piece may have been lightly cleaned but enough of the original patina remains to confirm authenticity. This piece is of average size measuring just over 40 cm.
