Wester Zhou Openwork Bronze Sword Scabbard
This is an amazing opportunity to own a very rare, large bronze sword scabbard from ancient China. This piece was part of the collection of the late John Piscopo and was marked as being from the Western Zhou Dynasty, though it may be a little later. It appears to be completely intact, and is solid and stable. It measures 9.66 cm across the top opening, 6.25 cm across the shape area and 46 cm in length. It weighs an impressive 983 grams. It has substantial textile pseudomorphs primarily on the solid bronze side. I am in the process of researching this amazing artifact. I doubt it will be long before it finds its way into someone's exclusive collection.
