Medieval Decorated Iron Boar Spear
This is a consignment piece and as a result is a little out of my area of expertise. I am told that it is a boar spear from the middle ages, circa 15th century. It was found in Germany. It is very large, approximately 45 cm in length and is decorated on both sides of the blade. The socket has two tangs that are in line with the blade edges. The entire piece is solid and stable with no signs of repair. The decorative inlays appears to be brass and there are also incised decoration visible on the blade.
