Hoi An Blue and White Porcelain Parrot Dish
In the mid 15th century a freighting junk loaded with fine Vietnamese pottery sank in an area of the South China Sea called the “Dragon’s Embrace.” Around 1994 local fishermen began finding pottery in their nets. Thus what has become known as the "Hoi An Hoard" was discovered. This blue and white porcelain parrot dish is from that famous find. This particular design is quite rare but you can add this one to your collection for a reasonable price. The diameter of the piece is 8.4 cm. As it spent several hundred years underneath the ocean, the glaze is a little worn and there are remnants of sea creatures attached to the surface.
