Decorated Bronze Dagger Ancient Qiang Minority
This is one of the rarest weapon types we have ever offered for sale. It is a bronze dagger from the Qiang minority in ancient China. It is completely intact with no repairs and measures 27 cm in length. It weighs 222 grams. It has deep fuller in the blade and concentric designs on the handle. The single downturned guard s quite an unusual feature. For a nearly identical example see "Ancient Sichuan Treasures from a Lost Civilization" by Robert Bagley p.233. According to this reference, these daggers date to the 5th century BC and are connected with more ancient Northern cultures. The single barb specimens are the most rare, with only a handful of examples known to exist.
