| This interesting little mace head was purchased in a collection of ancient Chinese weapons and was identified as such. I have thus far been unable to find an exact match for this type but hope to have more information on it soon. If it is Chinese in origin I would estimate that it is Shang or early Zhou based upon its size. It is solid and stable with no signs of repair. It has three rows of three spikes. It is 12.5 cm long. The opening is about 1.8 cm. Each spike is roughly 1.8 cm as well. The total weight is 282 grams. This is a wonderful piece for any ancient weapons collection and it is ready to go now.
