Very Early Middle Eastern Copper Axe Ingot
This is a very early copper or bronze flat axe. These pieces were often traded like money from one culture to another. The metal would then have been used for casting into other objects or it could have been used "as is" as a tool. This specimen has a beautiful patina with strong greens and reds mixed with a little blue. It is in excellent condition for its age (ca 1200 BC or earlier). It weighs 286 grams and measures roughly 20 cm in length. This is a good "type" piece for any ancient bronze collection and the price is quite reasonable.
