Really nice & clean turn of the century solid oak bookcase. Two doors with brass escutcheon, original lock , trying to marry key at this point. Comes with 4 new adjustable solid pine shelves. Fancy relief carved crest with scallop and other details. Measures 39 1/2" w, 68" h and 13" d.
Not signed but safely attributed to Harden. This rocker is very well made, probably old refinish. Seat (not pictured) is black naugahyde leather look. Posts are approx 37" high, 20" wide in front seat and paddle like arms 4 3/4" wide. Nice medium brown color. Rockers are new solid oak and colored to match rest of chair.
Antique New England chair, slat back with urn finial. Nice wear to front stretchers from generations of families putting their feet up. New splint seat painted a tan color, new windsor green paint over black hiding the old wood. Sadly the original paint was taken off years/decades ago and an extremely poor paint put on. Original incredibly detailed Victorian (c1870) cast iron stand. Dish top with disc of classic woman in center and detail throughout the casting until the edge. Dish top,14 1/2" , is supported by a tripod griffin base and claw feet. Three heads which probably had brass chain connecting to the top as there are small holes, would have been a classic swag. Arts and crafts era writing desk, properly cleaned old finish which does have some minor blemishes. Unsigned but the work of Cortland mfg with their distinctive triangle/pointed through tenons. New leatherette writing surface. Desk has one drawer, through tenons & pinned construction throughout. 28" deep, 29" high and 45 1/2" wide quick photo done as very busy, better ones to come!
Great bold cannonball & bell turned posts on this New England (c1840) rope bed. A FULL SIZE rope bed, not 3/4. Retains at least 50% of mustard color but can easily be refinished or paint blended depending on taste. Bed is made of maple, small chip out of turning on 1 cannonball. Has original rails but missing bed bolts. The cannonballs were cut off at one point but are attached and sturdy. Headboard has a nice roll to it, top of posts are 44" tall.
c1870 Desk of walnut with burl walnut decorative veneers. American, Victorian era drop front desk opens to reveal a 4 drawer interior with cubbies. Fine hand cut dovetails with ash secondary wood. Writing surface has been refelted in blue, can be done in tooled leather for additional amount. Old finish possibly original or very old overcoat on this c1840 butler's desk. Can be placed in many rooms since it has multiple uses and looks like a server or chest. The top drawer folds down to reveal a pull out desk compartment. Multi drawered interior is in fine condition. Underneath the desk section are 2 deep, useful cupboard doors. Original finish black walnut washstand or commode. White marble top, backsplash & sconces with nice gray striations throughout. Washstand retains original clean finish (c1865) with hand cut dovetail drawer, carved leaf & fruit pulls, racetrack moldings and hardware.
