This colorful peacock has been created by the Mixe artisan group, from the Mixe region of eastern Oaxaca state. They have been creating distinctive folkart for a quarter of a century. The body of the carving has a blue neck and a mottled feather design in a variety of colorful shades on the front and back, with its sides also painted various colors.
