Desirable and collectible Lyre bracelet from Taxco silver maestro Hector Aguilar. The bracelet is pictured on p. 30 of Penny C. Morrill’s “Silver Masters of Mexico.” This classic design is composed of eight links with a rhythmic ribbon pattern. The bracelet measures 7” long x a little over ½” wide. It comfortably fits a 7” wrist. Pictured on p. 65 of Penny C. Morrill’s “Silver Masters of Mexico,” this stunning half-oval linked necklace is one of Taxco maestro Hector Aguilar’s signature pieces of the 1940s. The 940 silver necklace has a gold wash, a highly desirable finish occasionally done by the maestro. Heavy pre-Columbian engraved fertility bracelet patterned after a William Spratling design of the 1930s. This 980 (higher than sterling) silver bracelet has the original clasp and pin-hinge construction. Signed Taxco 980, it likely dates to the early or mid-1940s. ••• The bracelet measures 7½" and is 7/8” wide. It weighs a hefty 63 grams. ••• CONDITION: Excellent estate condition.

A lighter version of a famous Hector Aguilar fertility bracelet design from the talented silversmith who signed his work RJP. The bracelet is also marked 925, Mexico Sterling, Eagle 3. ••• The bracelet consists of 10 interlocking links (five of each design). It measures 7Ό” x ½”, which is smaller in scale than the Aguilar original. Total weight: 46 grams. ••• CONDITION: Very good estate condition, with a rather funky replacement for a missing safety chain catch.

Inlaid copper and brass on silver. ••• Marked Made in Mexico Metales Castillo 148 (a production number). ••• The pin measures 2” x 1½”. Weight: 39 grams. ••• CONDITION: Very good estate condition, with light surface scratching typical for its age (and part of desirable patina). The clasp is secure and closes tightly.

Dominquez was the son of Miguel Dominguez, one of only two silversmiths in Taxco when William Spratling arrived in 1929.
