Fine fossil ivory has been harvested from the icy waters of Alaska and carved by indigenous people, such as the Inupiat for generations. This fine old example has the tiniest beads we've seen, about 1/8" diameter. The barrel clasp is hand carved and threaded inside. Like mint condition. Measures 24" end to end. These have the color you look for in antique ivory, very mellowed. From an estate grouping that we just got in, so see other Northwest Coast jewelry in listings.
