Solid gold Georgian hound dog brooch done in seed pearls against a black enamel ground and set into a carat gold hex frame. The hound dog's eye is a cut diamond. There is a beautifully engraved sentiment dated 1844 in Geneva, Switzerland. The shape of the brooch is arched and the hound stands out in high relief.
