Rare offering of Victorian gold friendship charm earrings in solid gold. The circa 1870 earrings are beautifully engraved with intertwining initials of GDC. They measure 7/8" diameter and weigh approximately 10 grams and have been tested to a minimum of 15k. During this era, actual coins were used to create friendship charms which were pounded and inscribed with initials, dates, or messages from one friend to the other. Large Victorian gilded metal locket with AEI monogram superimposed to reference the Victorian sentiment of Amity, Eternity and Infinity. Mourning lockets contained photos of loved ones and sometimes a lock of hair as momentos to wear close to one's heart. Genuine hand-carved tortoise shell locket with original matching chain, circa 1880. The locket has applied carved initials and a rose gold hinge. The chain is complete, and is composed of alternating O and D rings so that it lays flat around the neckline. This early bale form will ensure the locket hangs beautifully. Grand Tour bracelet with huge vermeil filigree work mounting for this pietra dura inlay work. The clasp is set with an additional pietra dura work in a smaller scale. The bracelet is formed from woven brass. Face measures 1 5/8" tall x 2" wide. End to end just over 7" so a very wearable length for the modern sized woman which is rare with this era jewelry.
