Palmette border, reeded legs have protruding lion's head and paw feet. Nicely fitted lid opens to shallow receptacle, you may want to line with glass for use. Unmarked, found in France. Stands 12" tall and 5 1/4" wide at top. Wear to silverplating, left untouched, no hallmarks are found.

This classic syrup jug has engine turned engraving overall and a large cartouche with a Gothic "C" engraved at the front. Grape cluster and grape leaves finial to the helmet shaped lid, beaded lip and foot. Very graceful handle. Measures 8 1/4" tall, its unmarked. Nice condition for 140 yrs old.
