Well documented and highly collectible this "Indian Chief" brooch is cast in high relief of sterling silver. The patina is excellent. Appears to have remnants of old hallmark but they are very worn, nearly obscure. Measures approximately 2 1/2" x 2 5/8. Clasp has old repair, operates fine.
Classic Art Nouveau Design by highly regarded silver maker of the era, William B. Kerr of Newark, New Jersey. High relief design on oval frame. Original pinback can be worn as brooch or used as a buckle for a sash or scarf near the shoulder. This beautifully patinated piece measures approximately 4" by 3". Hallmarked and numbered no. 2723. Circa 1900-1910.
