Navajo Dragonfly Brooch Early and Large!
Private collection Navajo dragonfly brooch in hand-wrought sterling silver and hand-stamped is the largest scale we've seen. Dragonfly symbolizes happiness, speed and purity in Native American culture. It represents living in the moment, overcoming one's self created delusions and opening of one's eyes in other ancient cultures. If you can identify the tool's marks, you can identify the artist as back in the day the stamps and dies were handmade. This has deep and crisp stamping to the wings and bod. Twisted wire antennae and is both stamped and tested for sterling silver, measures about 3 3/4" long and 3" wide. Brooch converters are available thru a number of outlets, email me for information in order to convert this item to a pendant without altering it. The brooch converters are sterling or gold and are a type of tube clasp, you run the brooch pin thru the tube which has a hanging loop built in so you can hang it from your favorite silver necklace and convert back to pin by removing the converter at any time. No Loss!
