Rebajes Guitar Pendant Necklace
Frank Rebajes (1907-1990) Modernist Studio Artist born Francisco Rebajes in the Dominican Republic, he was a mid-century artist living and working in Greenwich Village. Now highly collectible, he is best known for his copper work and is featured in countless museums and publications. You will find this design in "Modernist Jewelry" by Marbeth Schon, (Schiffer, 2004, pp 204) known as "Guitar" its a pendant here with chain and matching earrings. This design is silverplated with oxidized recesses. He also produced this design in copper. The chain is perfectly matched in its style as its hammered and the same color and finish although its a later marriage. The pendant and earrings were purchased together and are all signed. The pendant is 2 7/8" long and the chain is 24" or 12" as worn. The earrings are 1 1/2" screwbacks. No problems here.
