| Hand-carved Chinese Tortoise Shell picture frame dated 1911. The fine fretwork and pierced work here is that of a master. Please see the detailed crown, the entire surface of the dragon is detailed right down to the scales. At about 6" x 4" its easily one of the largest we've seen; pictured against a light background to highlight the exuberant figuring. This fine shell momento has an easel type stand at the reverse. Ready for your picture the oval measures shy 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" wide. This one comes with a sweet inscription dated 1911 thats been professionally carved no doubt by a jeweler.
