| Victorian MOP sweetheart necklace is a fine example of a long lost art form. 6 layers comprise this hand-carved mother of pearl shell pendant necklace. There is a sword thats piercing through a flaming heart. The layers are riveted through to the back of the shell and can swivel. The necklace is made up of mother of pearl beads and the pendant on a drop thats removable. Fine condition. Necklace is 18" end to end. Drop is 6 7/8" bale to tip of pendant. Pendant measures approximately 2 5/8" x 1 1/2". The heart pierced by sword symbol has been seen throughout the ages; it's said to represent eternal love, sacrificial love and the Sacred Heart of Mary and is wildly popular today in tattoo art. | |||||||||||||||
