Beautiful pair of hand made solid copper and brass scroll candle sticks designed and signed (c.1940's) by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar(1905-86). Each of the pair stands 8 inches high and 12 inches long. The pair hold a total of 6 candles. Excellent vintage condition and original unpolished patina with no dents, dings or repairs. Each signed HA TAXCO MEXICO on the undersides. Pictured in SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill and Carole Berk p.109 and on p. 120 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill.

Vintage handmade bowl of 700 silver designed (c. 1940's)by Taxco, Mexico artist
Hubert Harmon. Measures 11 1/2" across & 2 inches deep. Weighs 1 lb, 3oz. Fluted rim surrounds a repousse sunflower decoration. Marked HUBERT HARMON MADE IN MEXICO 700. Beautiful vintage condition with normal surface wear. No dents, dings or repairs. Well known for his whimsical jewelry in sterling and other metals this bowl is rare as few pieces of Harmon holloware appear on the market.

Handmade sterling silver and rosewood bottle opener designed and signed (c.1950) by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling(1900-67). Sculptural in design the opener is 5 3/8" Long. Beautiful vintage condition. No chips or cracks to wood. No dents or dings to silver. This is a decorative piece and we suggest not using it to actually open bottles as the high silver content is softer than other metals commonly used in openers. Large and heavy this handmade 940 sterling silver water pitcher was designed and signed c.1940's by Taxco, Mexico silver artist and maestro Hector Aguilar (1905-86).
9" tall, 7" from spout to tip of handle. The towering spout is "pinched" on either side for perfect pouring. 778 grams or 1 3/4 lbs. of 940 silver. Marked HA TAXCO 940. Hand hammered interior. Beautiful vintage condition with minor surface wear. No repairs. 3 small pinhead size dings can be seen on very close inspection. A similar pitcher is pictured on p.140 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. Aguilar designs were a major part of the recent museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE. Spratling is pictured inspecting this pitcher along with fellow designers Aguilar, Antonio Pineda and Antonio Castillo in a rare early photograph in the exhibit catalogue p. 144.

Hand hammered sterling silver tray or bowl designed and signed (c.1940's) by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). Tray measures 9 3/4" X 8 3/4". Tray lip is 1 1/2" wide, depth 1/2". Heavy piece at 364 grams, 12.8oz. Fully marked with 1940-46 hallmarks. Hallmarks pictured in WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE by Penny Morrill. Vintage handmade sterling silver spoon or ladle designed and marked (1950's)by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling(1900-67). Measures 4 3/8"L X 1 1/2"W. 34grams, 1.2oz. Beautifully photographed on p.97 of SPRATLING SILVER by Cederwall/Riney. Author Phyllis Goddard writes on her site spratlingsilver.com "this spoon represents a combination of Spratling's favorite design motifs...wrapped silver wire, intertwined and incised loops and silver ball." Spratling described it as a sugar spoon.

Fine grouping of sterling silver nautilus footed bowls designed and signed (c.1940's) by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-1967).
Measurements in diameter X height-
6" X 3", and
4" X 2".
Excellent vintage condition with some surface wear - no dents or dings. Each is handmade of heavy gauge sterling silver with rolled edges and 3 applied conchshell shaped feet. Each correctly hallmarked. Similar bowls were featured in WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE and are pictured on page 175 of the museum catalog by Penny Morrill. Spratling designs are included in permanent museum collections around the world.
