Dramatic modernist sterling silver necklace featuring a pendant centered with a alexandrite crystal and cultured pearl designed and signed c.1950's by modernist Taxco, Mexico artist Antonio Pineda. The chain measures 22 inches in wearable length and is incorporated into the intricate design of the pendant. The 3/4"L alexandrite crystal changes colors with the light from rich reds to deep blues and purples. The large pearl is a luminous cream. Signed on the back of the pendant with the ANTONIO's CROWN & TAXCO hallmark. The slide-in clasp is tight and secure and hallmarked with eagle 3 Taxco Mexico, 925, JCC. This vintage piece is in perfect condition.

Rare 4 1/2" X 3 1/2" architectural sterling silver and obsidian cross form pendant and chain necklace designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling(1900-67). Comprised of four circles each centered with an 8 point star and a cab obsidian stone. Pendant available with or without Spratling signed 19" chain. Exhibited in the museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE and pictured on p. 150 of the museum catalog. Also pictured on spratlingsilver.com. 1950's hallmarks on the reverse read WS script circle WILLIAM SPRATLING TAXCO MEXICO, 925, eagle 30. Beautiful condition with no chips or cracks, dents or dings.

The coffee table sized book is 12" X 9" with 284 pages and over 450 photographs, 350 in full color of designer Mexican silver jewelry and objects created from the early to mid 20th century. In addition to Spratling artists included are Antonio Pineda, Hector Aguilar, Frederick Fred Davis, Hubert Harmon, Margot de Taxco, Los Castillo, and many others. Comprehensive appendix of designer hallmarks included plus sections on the construction and tools used to execute the designs. Rare handwrought sterling silver repousse pin designed and signed c.1940 by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar(1905-86). Measures 1 3/4" X 1 3/4". Hallmarks- HA 940 TAXCO. Beautiful condition with no dents, dings or repairs. Pin back and safety are tight and secure. Aguilar designed and executed a series of stylized animal head pins based on designs from the Codex Nuttall. Examples are pictured in SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill on p. 60. The animal head pins were also featured and explained in detail in the museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE and pictured p. 128 of the catalog by Penny Morrill. The Codex Nuttall describes this design as the "Yucatan deer with conventionalized antler, glyph for Nahua day sign Macatl, Nuttall."

Intricately handwrought sterling silver pin or brooch designed and signed c.1940's by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling(1900-67). The pin measures 6 1/2 inches long X 2 3/4 inches. Beautiful condition. Pin back and safety work perfectly. Fully hallmarked on the reverse. Referred to as the "wavy bow pin" this design was featured in the museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE. Stunning, vintage handwrought amethyst and 990, almost pure sterling silver necklace designed and signed c.1940-45 by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar(1905-86). Pendant measures 2 3/4" by 2 3/4". The heavy original hand forged chain and clasp measure 24 inches long. 87 grams, 3.1 oz. The pale color of the amethyst stone resembles rose quartz in some light. The necklace is in beautiful condition with a gorgeous patina. The 7/8" stone is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or nicks. No dents or dings to the silver. This rare design is pictured in SILVER SEDUCTION THE ART OF MEXICAN MODERNIST ANTONIO PINEDA p.33.

Sterling silver bracelet with raised repousse swirls and cascabels designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Hubert Harmon. Bracelet measures 6 3/4" wearable length and 1 1/4" wide. Harmon designs are rare and considered very collectable as he only designed jewelry for a short time in the early 1940's. Excellent condition with gorgeous patina. No dents or dings. Penny Morrill and Carole Berk's book, MEXICAN SILVER p.139 pictures a pair of Harmon earrings in this design.

Animated vintage handmade necklace comprised of translucent amethyst beads & tubes spaced with sterling silver and azur-malachite discs finished with 8 sterling inlaid azur-malachite mexican folk art hummingbirds. Rare 1940's hand forged brass hair ornament designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Hubert Harmon. Harmon incorporates his signature hallmark of angel wings combined with turned up soles in this design. The thick brass wire base is formed into a Rubinesque female torso. Piece measures 5 inches tall X 2 3/4" across. Beautiful vintage condition with no dents or dings. Signed on the reverse HUBERT HARMON MADE IN MEXICO.
