Outstanding handmade sterling silver brooch designed and signed (c.1940's) by Taxco, Mexico maestro Hector Aguilar (1905-1986). This grasshopper is 3 inches long and comprised of several segments of carved 990 silver forming the body of this big guy. Pin back and safety lock work perfectly. Beautiful vintage condition with no dents or dings. Pictured on page 18 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO By Penny Morrill. Buyer to pay $10.00 shipping and insurance.

Early and elegant sterling silver flower pin designed and signed (c.1940) by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar (1905-1986). The piece is comprised of layers of sterling petals and measures 2 1/4" X 2 1/4". Aguilar was a designer for William Spratling before opening the Taller Borda.

Sterling silver parrot head money clips designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (c.1940). Clip on left measures 2 1/4" tall. On the right, 1 3/4" tall. It's documented that Spratling often found inspiration among the flora and fauna of his Mexico ranch. Both of these clips are pictured on the informative website www.spratlingsilver.com.

This pin was orginally designed by Mexico artist Frederick Davis in the 1930's. This piece is signed MEXICO SILVER but without the FD mark. Measuring 3 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 wide. 8 cab amethyst stones guard a large faceted amethyst in the center. Pin back works perfectly. Tiny flea bite in the center stone that can be felt but not seen. No dents, dings or repairs to silver.

Hand crafted sterling silver cascabell pin designed and signed (c.1940's)by Taxco, Mexico artist Valentin Vidaurreta (1902-1955). Measures 3 1/2" X 2". Comprised of 19 cascabells on five sterling stems and tied with a sterling silver bow. Valentin was the primary designer for Hector Aguilar and the Taller Borda and was considered one of the best Taxco silver designers of the period. His art leaned toward fauna and foilage and this can be seen in his sterling silver designs. This pin is in excellent condition except for two fallen (and missing) cascabell flower buds.

Nice example of the work of Taller Borda designer Gabriel Flores (c.1950)who worked with Hector Aguilar and was allowed to use his own GF hallmark along with Aguilar's eagle # 9 and the Taller Borda hallmark. Face of each link is 1 inch X 1/2 inch wide.
