Handmade sterling silver butterfly pin with bronze markings designed (c.1940's) and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). 2 1/2" X 1 3/4". Two prong clip fastener works perfectly. Beautiful vintage condition. Solid copper necklace designed by Ana Brilanti-Cony who signed her jewelry VICTORIA. (c.1950). This Victoria design in sterling silver was shown in the recent museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE and is piCtured in the exhibit catalog p.104. The necklace will comfortably fit up to a 15 inch neck. The center circle measures 2" X 2". Earrings are screw back and measure 1 1/2" long. All pieces hallmarked. Necklace marks are VICTORIA TAXCO MEXICO COPPER CONY 283. Excellent vintage condition. Original unpolished patina. A chapter on Victoria and her designs can be found in MEXICAN SILVER by Penny Morrill and Carole Berk p.118. Ana Brilanti-Cony was a contemporary of William Spratling and Antonio Pineda.

Strong Art Deco lines - Designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Antonio Pineda. The piece measures 4 3/4 inches long, 1 1/4" wide & 1/4 inch thick. 44 grams, 1.6 oz. Hallmark worn but reads: Mexico Silver By TONO, Antonio's mark from 1948-53. Beautiful vintage condition. No dents or dings, pin back works perfectly. Antonio's hallmarks can be referenced in the beautiful museum catalog: Silver Seduction by Stromberg P.80. Antonio was a contemporary of William Spratling and many modernist designers.

Very early (1930-40's) handmade sterling silver creamer and sugar set with tray designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). The set weighs 560grms. The serving tray has a handhammered finish & measures 10 1/4" X 6 1/4", 241 grms. Beautiful conditon with some very light surface scratching. Signed WS TAXCO MEXICO 925 Creamer- 3" X 4 1/2", Sugar- 3 3/4" X 4 1/2", both in beautidful condition, no dents or dings. Signed WS SPRATLING MADE IN MEXICO, STERLING. Spratling designs are part of museum collections around the world.

Whimsical and rare handmade sterling silver Question Mark pill box designed (c.1960's) by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). Measures 2 1/4" X 1 1/2". Made of heavy gauge sterling silver the box weighs 28 grams or 1 ounce. A small silver bead snaps the lid into place. Hinge works perfectly. No dents or dings. Signed on the inside lid WS 925 WILLIAM SPRATLING TAXCO MEXICO and the eagle 63.
