| Handmade sterling and rosewood crescent necklace designed(c.1940's) by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling(1900-67). Comprised of 4 1/2"L X 1 1/2"W pendant accented with thick sterling wire wraps. The strong distinctive 12 1/2" chain fastens on one side with a snap back clasp. The wearable length of the necklace is 17 inches. Condition is excellent with normal surface wear to the wood. No chips or cracks. No dents or dings to the silver. Fully hallmarked on the reverse. This necklace was featured in the exhibit on Latin American Jewelry at the Museum for Art and Design in NYC from 10/12/10 through 1/8/11. | |||||||
