HECTOR AGUILAR Silver & Suede X X X Bracelet 1 3/4"W

Early sterling silver and black suede bracelet designed and signed(1940's) by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar(1905-86). The bracelet length will fit up to a 6 1/2" wrist and is 1 3/4 inches wide. The 3 silver X's have incised lines and are in perfect condition with no dents, dings or repairs. The suede is in excellent condition with some minor surface rubbing as the 3 X's slide on the suede. The suede ends are beautifully sewn into place around the silver clasps. Marks read HA TAXCO 940. This design is often referred to as the Georgia O'Keefe as she was once photographed wearing a similar belt. Aguilar was an early apprentice to William Spratling and a contemporary of Antonio Pineda.
