| Striking example of the famous sterling, suede and leather "X" belt with dots designed (1940's) by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar(1905-86). Currently measuring 2 1/4" Wide by 26" Long. Each end has an additional 1 3/4 inches if a longer length is desired. The dots are fixed in place but the silver X's slide on the suede and leather strap. The artist Georgia O'Keeffe is pictured wearing this belt on p. 108 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. The leather and suede are in excellent vintage condition. There are no dings, dents or repairs to the silver. Usually seen in black suede and leather this is the first we've seen in this lush burgundy red. Marked on the buckle 990 TAXCO HA.
