| Large and impressive this 4 inch long sterling silver and bronze butterfly/moth pin or brooch was designed and signed (c.1940's) by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling(1900-67). The pin measures 4 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide and weighs 49 grams, 1.7 oz. Designed and made in 4 sizes this is the largest. Beautiful original condition with no dents, dings or repairs. Pin back and lock work perfectly. Featured in the museum exhibit WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE and pictured on p.229 of the book by the same name by Penny Morrill.
