| Early 1930's heavy carved cuff bracelet with incised lines, cutout designs and raised center and side discs designed and signed (c.1930's) by William Spratling(1900-67). Hallmarks - 980 WS TAXCO MEXICO. The front center measures 2 1/4 inches wide. Inside measures 6 inches end to end with a opening of 1 1/4 inches. Bracelet pictured on Phyllis Goddards' Spratlingsilver.com where she states that Spratling referred to this design as "Nahui Olin - symbols from the Aztec Calender (Cuauhxicalli) which were carved in 1479 and dedicated to the principal Aztec deity, the sun". Weighs 127 grams, 4.5 oz. Fantastic vintage condition with no dents or dings. Minor surface wear adds to the beautiful patina of the piece.
