HECTOR AGUILAR NECKLACE STERLING SILVER MAGUEY
Stunningly beautiful 940 sterling silver necklace designed and signed in the 1940's by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar. The necklace measures 16 1/2 inches long and 1 3/4 inches at it's widest. The 7 panel center section is 6 1/2" across. Weight- 137 grams or 4.08 oz. Excellent condition with no dents, dings or repairs. Slide in clasp is tight and secure. Fully hallmarked HA 940 TAXCO. This design is pictured in Mexican Silver 4th edition p 107 by Penny Morrill and Silver Master of Mexico p.36 also by Morrill. The name of the necklace is derived from Mexico's wonder plant the maguey also known as agave.
