Antique rustic cow or water buffalo bell from Burma (Myanmar). The Burmese villagers hand crafted these ornate bells of bronze, to help control their small herds of buffalo or cattle. The buffalo were mainly used to pull the plows of the rice farmers. Beautifully mounted on a modern black base. Great home decor accent piece. Large Burmese wood string puppet head. Asia is famous for its puppets. They have shadow, hand and string puppets. This piece is an excellent example of the large string puppets of Burma (Myanmar), that were very popular until the early 20th century.
