Rural handmade teak wood sitting Buddha image. The wooden Buddha was carved by a villager to make merit, then given to the village Buddhist temple to make merit. Originally it was covered in black lacquer, but later the monks covered it in gold paint and other lacquer colors. Slight insect damage to the base front. Antique Thai rustic thick sticky rice pan. These hard wood trays were handmade by the villagers of Northern Thailand. Beautiful elephant bell from Myanmar (formally Burma). This ornate bronze bell was used by the Burmese villagers of old to locate elephants (not that it seems likely to loose one) if the elephants grazed their way into the jungle and as adornments. Everything is strongly held together with a joint system and of course every part in handmade. This piece was purchased and believed made in Shaoxing, China.
