Bronze Burmese Elephant bell mounted on modern flat black stand. Beautifully handmade and etched in Burma (Myanmar) 80 to 150 years ago. The bell has been incised with a distinctive leaf and flower design and bears the maker's name in Burmese characters. Each bell is different, due to the old style hand crafting, so please see enlargements for each bell when choosing one for yourself. Size: 3 1/4 inch diam bell, 10 1/2 inch tall (including stand), 5.5 x 4 inch base.

Burmese Elephant Bell With Leather Collar. This handmade, rustic, bronze bell was used by the Burmese villagers to locate elephants when they grazed their way into the jungle, then in the last 30 to 60 years it was modified to fit a cow or water buffalo, with the leather strap. We kept it in this state for the serious Asian bell collectors. Please see closeups for the unique design detail and maker marks of this bronze bell. Elephant bell size: 4" diam, leather collar: 34" long.
