Rustic pressing iron probably from the 1800s. Hot coals would be put inside to heat the iron. On the top is a steel roster that acts as the latch trigger, to open. Great condition. The patina shows the age evenly. Wood handle still in good shape. Makes a great rustic book end or just display.
