Antique cart carved teak wood cart decoration. The hand carving depicts a bird eating or smelling a flower as it sits into the wind on another bloom. This is the best example of the old Burmese wooden ox cart decorations we have ever found. Even the original paint is pretty much intact. Circa 1880 - 1920. We handsomely mounted it on a sturdy black 2 tiered base with a felt liner, so it won't scratch your antiquities. Bird looking to sky cart decoration from Burma. The bird is depicted standing on a leafed branch looking to the heavens. The long part behind him at one time was used to connect the piece to the ancient cart. This style hand crafted teak wood decoration adorned the ox or buffalo carts that were the main mode of transportation many years ago in Burma. Great condition and beautiful patina.
