| Size: 15" High, 11" Wide. Age: 100-150 year's old. The Chakri dynasty was inaugurated on April 6, 1782 with the coronation of Rama I or King Yot Fa Chulalok. He moved the capital across the Chao Phaya River from Thonburi to a small village known as "Bangkok" and promulgated new laws to rule the country. The art of this period is known as the Rattanakosin style although it is also referred to as the Bangkok style. This Bronze Rattanakosin Buddha carried on many of the traditions of the Chiang saen (Chiangsaen, Chiangsan, Chiang san) style. Large curls and a prominent hairline frame a round, fleshy face. The garment covers the left shoulder with a short flap ending above the left nipple. The original patina is untouched and as found.
