| Very rare Rahal elephant bell. A Thai ancient belief, that a lunar eclipse is caused by an evil god of darkness named "Rahul" who eats the moon. This symbol of disaster can only be averted when people make loud noises, like fire crackers, to chase the evil god away. Beautiful natural patina. Circa 1850 to 1920. Size: 2 3/4 inch diam bell, 9 inch tall (including stand), 3.5 x 5 inch base. | ||
