This outstanding 19th Century sterling silver figural rattle features a very unhappy crying baby with 3 bells atop a mother of pearl handle. Gorgeous Art Nouveau lady on the front of the tape measure and Art Nouveau flowers with undulating designs grace the back. She is in excellent condition with no dings or dents to her nose, checks, or chin. The tape is in fine working order.

A rather novel American Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Match Safe with a hidden photo compartment. These match safes were often referred to as Mistress Matchsafes, since they often contained a photograph of a lovely woman assumed to be the mistress. An Italian micro mosaic frame decorated in teal, white, and brown with a spiraling rope twist accent around the outer edge of the frame and the inner edge of the picture area.
The frame is an oval standing on two legs. Total height of frame is 4 inches and 2 3/4" wide. The picture area measures 2 1/2" long x 1 3/4" wide.
