This is without a doubt one of the nicest and most comfortable colonial open armchairs I have ever come across. The carving and design is superb with a leaf and berry top rail, arms elegantly terminating in swan necks and scrolling feathers to the other end. the shaped front legs are carved with acanthus leaves, the base with a trailing vine pattern. A rich honey colour patina which is the result of many years of loving care. A very good quality piece. Later cover, nicely decorated with trail ...click for details

This type always reminds me of the Great Exhibition of 1851, the height of the British Empire and the colonies, craftsmanship at its finest. Beautifully ebonised and inlaid with fiery Amboyna wood, the supports and sides carved and gilded with fleur de lys pattern, the top opens to reveal compartments for envelopes and paper with secret compartments under the pen holder. The lid is quality replacement hand tooled leather which opens to reveal a two drawer interior, one side opens to reveal four ...click for details

This most attractive ebonised and burr walnut revolving round table is very useful and being of smaller size, will fit into a smaller room. It is very well made. I love the warm glow of the burr walnut against the ebony black divided by boxwood stringing. Size: 70cm tall by 47cm in diameter

I bought this dresser on 1st April 1977, so for thirty six years it has graced the kitchen of our Queen Anne home. It was purchased from a well-respected Norfolk dealer, Margaret Carson. It is a rich dark honey colour; the feet and brass handles are not original as it would have had round knobs in 1810. The plate rack has six spice drawers and two shelves.
