A most attractive oil on board recreating a 19th Century view of the river Thames with the early evening sun highlighting St Pauls with sailing ships and two men rowing in the foreground. Bernard Page was born in Hertfordshire of an English Father and Swiss Mother who were from a family of artists. After serving in the Royal Navy he attended St Martins Art College and then the Central Art College in London. He then went on to do graphic design for Vogue magazine. His paintings are in collecti ...click for details

A nice scene of a grey horse and bay pony in an old style with ducks to keep them company. Please note that this is not very old and is a copy of a much earlier painting. However, it is highly decorative and has a quality look about it. Oil on board, signed lower right Jan Martel and presented within a gilt frame which has one or two minor losses I am happy to obtain a posting quotation Size: 38cm by 59cm

A lovely painting of this picturesque village on the North Norfolk Coast, slightly hard to read the signature but I think its Adam Tainton. He certainly knew how to capture the Norfolk Look, especially the sky and landscape. A lasting memory for one who loves North Norfolk. This almost Naïve style scene oil on board was painted in the very early years of the 20th Century by William Plumstead who captured a number of old Norwich images. There is an old Norfolk wherry and houses on the riverbank, all now no more, the lovely cathedral and Norman castle still stand, hopefully forever. Plumsteads work reminds me of works by David Hodgson (1798-1864) whose paintings are far grander but done with the same passion and for for this wonderful city. In my opinion William P ...click for details

A bustling scene with many figures in the fish market, sadly no longer in existence for 700 years and now replaced by shops, the same as one finds anywhere in the country. This historic scene is dominated by The Church of St Peter Mancroft, largest of the thirty one parish churches in Norwich. Signed lower right, presented within a plain giltwood frame. Size: 39cm by 58.5cm excluding frame
