This fine Armorial plate is from Gunton Hall in Norfolk.
It was the seat of the Suffield family (Baron Harbord)
The crest is beautifully painted in the centre, A lion on
a "Chapeau Gu Couchaut Arg" to quote an entry from
a book of Crests.
The plate has a classic "Apple Green" ground complimented
by fine gilding which is in quite remarkable condition considering
its age.
I bought this from the sale of contents at Gunton Park in 1979.
Size 26 cm 10 1/4inches.

This beautiful tea pot was crafted at the height of the Art Deco period in 1925.
It bears the hallmarks for Sheffield 1925 and makers initials WH&Co Ltd which
is Walker & Hall one of the famous Sheffield makers, stamped on the underside
is Rossi Norwich a well known shop in the city. Also on the base is descretely engraved
Christopher and Rosamund from GF&M Buxton 1927.
So this tea pot has strong connections with some of the great Norfolk families. I can supply
