This nicely painted Oil on board depicts two early 19c Gentleman outside an Inn with their tired
horses, note the hogged tail is not so popular these days, but less work.
One gentleman is reading a notice which says 'To be Sold' so where to next for a rest and refreshments?
perhaps some kind soul will put them up in the villiage.
In a gilt and gesso frame, an old Norfolk auctioneers label is attached to the reverse.
