This stunning large centrepiece depicts three winged cherubs picking bunches of roses from the trailing flowers on the classical pierced urn.
There are a few minor chips, bits of the leaves and flowers missing. We have photographed them where possible, there are no restorations. considering the complexity of this lovely piece it is in my opinion in very good condition.

This charming little caddy spoon has a skilfully engraved bowl and a fluted stem with an acanthus finial. The stem is slightly curved. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that. Nevertheless it's a very nice piece.
The date marks are for Birmingham 1841, I think the makers initials are 'GU'.

This is a gold pocket watch and is much rarer than the more commonly found silver watch. It is in its original encrusted condition and I have tried to pick out some of the gold in the photos. It is as it was when first pulled from the seabed after 127 years of undisturbed rest.
It comes with its original Certificate of Authenticity from Christies.
Size,
6 cm (at its highest point) x 5 cm.

This most interesting collection of ten fan and face screen handles are displayed in a contemporary giltwood frame, arranged in the shape of a fan.
Starting from the outside, there are two slightly different Fruitwood screen examples, exquisitely turned. The others are in various fruitwoods, some beautifully gilded or ebonised. The attention to detail in the carving, turning and gilding is superb.
This would make a really exquisite and original gift.

A shrine at Boveno Italy by Sir Hubert James Medlycott (British 1841-1920). This well known British artist was particularly for his skill in painting buildings, especially scenes of London, Venice and the Italian lakes.
This scene is in Baveno, a town in the hills above Lake Maggiore. The soft colours depict two figures in a small square with a shrine to the right and beautiful classical lime washed Italian buildings. The picture is signed and dated 1893 in the left hand corner and Baveno o ...click for details
