This exquisite solid gold locket is in superb wearable condition and was sold at Christies Auction 1997. The locket has a decorated front and plain back. A wonderful piece that would make the perfect gift. It comes complete with a certificate of authenticity as proof of its provenance. Size, 4 cm height. 2.5 cm width. The General Abbatucci and her mysterious shipment lay on the soft seabed for 127 years before she was located in 1996. The expected cargo of gold was never found, but among the twisted metal hull and skeletal remains were pieces of jewellery, watches and coins which were recovered from a depth of over 8,000 feet.
